Calvin is now up by six with 58 seconds remaining.

  3. Pat Coleman Says:

Calvin finished it off, 69-66, behind 15 points from Caleb Veldhouse and 12 from Andy Draayer.

  4. Pat Coleman Says:

    Wittenberg survived, beating Allegheny 61-56.

Clutch free throw shooting and tight defense powered #1 Wittenberg past a game Allegheny team today. 6′8″ wing Dane Borchers led Witt with 29. Gheny shot over 50% from the field in ringing up 35 first-half points against the nation’s #1 defensive team. The lead grew to as many as 13 points early in the 2nd, but then the Tigers put on the defensive clamps, holding the Gators to just 21 points in the 2nd period. A great game from Meadville, PA. Witt improves to 16-1, while Allegheny falls to 6-10.

We’ll have to keep an eye later on the North Central-at-Augustana game. Tips off at 8:30 ET.

  7. witt4ever Says:

Allegheny scores only 1 FG in the final 7 minutes of the game and that FG came as time was expiring, Wittenberg allowing the Gators to score.

Steffes was the key FT shooter down the stretch.

  8. witt4ever Says:

    5 minutes, not 7.
    sorry.

Oof, after an ugly first half the homestanding Cortland State men (14-1) trail Oswego State 26-21.

  11. Pat Coleman Says:

No. 9 Augustana has rallied from a 22-11 (I believe that’s what they said) deficit and is tied with No. 13 North Central at 26 late in the first half.

  12. Pat Coleman Says:

Cortland had a brief comeback but didn’t get any closer than about four points. Trails at Oswego 56-48 with 2:46 left.

  13. Pat Coleman Says:

Sounds like Widener men are leading Messiah 67-65 with 3:00 left.

  14. Pat Coleman Says:

After all that, Cortland had a shot at the buzzer to tie the game that hit off the back rim, no good. Final: Oswego State 59, Cortland State 56.

Augustana has just taken a 50-49 lead on North Central.

  15. Pat Coleman Says:

Tied at 76-76 with 1:38 left.

  16. atnwriter Says:

Kudos to Lawrence, now the last of the NCAA men’s unbeatens after 3 of the schools in the other divisions (one based in North Carolina, one in western Pa. and one representing a state way down south) all lost today…

  17. augie_superfan Says:

Augustana up 3 and shooting 2 free throws with about 30 seconds left

  18. augie_superfan Says:

    North Central 79
    Augustana 85

  19. Pat Coleman Says:

Yeah, sorry, got caught up elsewhere, sending scores to the NCC radio people and such. :)

  20. Pat Coleman Says:

Occidental leads Redlands 96-85 so there’s probably a lot of time left in this one. :)

  21. Pat Coleman Says:

    Final: 112-92 Occidental.
